The lab of Shao-Cong Sun at CIMR, a new biomedical research institute in Beijing, is recruiting motivated Postdoctoral Fellows and Research Assistant/Associate Investigators to conduct basic and translational research in Cancer Immunology and Autoimmunity. A major focus of the lab is to study the molecular mechanisms regulating the functions of T cells, a central component of anticancer immunity and cancer immunotherapy. Deregulated T cell responses also contribute to the pathogenesis of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. Thus, fundamental understanding of the regulatory mechanisms of T cell function is crucial for improving the treatment of cancer and immunological diseases. The Sun lab uses a variety of cutting-edge immunology and molecular biology techniques and mouse models to study the activation, effector function, and exhaustion of T cells as well as the impact of the tumor microenvironment on T cell function. Dr. Sun and his colleagues have made a number of high-impact contributions published in prestigous journals. His work also has excellent translational prospects and important guiding roles in drug development and disease treatment. Dr. Sun has an outstanding track record in mentoring trainees. More than 20 postdocs trained in his laboratory have become university professors and PIs, and his PhD students have also been successful in subsequent career development.
