Laboratory Introduction

The Huang laboratory at CIMR is interested in identifying the fundamental physiological functions of heat shock protein 40s (HSP40s) in critical biological pathways including genome maintenance, innate immunity and glucose metabolism, and their implications in pathogenesis of human diseases, such as cancer, autoimmune disease and metabolic disorder.  

 

A.Major Research Projects

a. Decoding the functions and functional mechanisms of HSP40 in critical biological pathways including genome maintenance, innate immunity and glucose metabolism.
b. Exploring the functions of HSP40 in the pathology and treatment of human disease, such as cancer, autoimmune disease and metabolic disorder.
c. Developing HSP40-based therapeutics for human diseases.

Open Positions

Research assistant investigator

Main Responsibilities:

a. Conducting research projects independently.
b. Assisting PI to mentor graduate students, write grant proposals and manuscripts.

 

Qualifications:

a. Backgrounds in cancer biology, biochemistry (biochemistry and structural biology of proteins preferred), cell biology, molecular biology, immunology, or other related biomedical fields. A Ph.D degree and at least two years of postdoc experience is required.

b. Published research papers as the first author in reputable journals in the field.

c. Strong research experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology and/or mouse studies.

d. Self-motivated and independent researcher capable of independently conducting scientific research and assisting to supervise graduate students.

e. Proficient in English reading, writing, and daily communication. Capable of writing papers in English.
