Laboratory Introduction
The laboratory of Yu Zhang at the Chinese Institutes for Medical Research (CIMR) works on the identification of key molecules in tumor immunology, by genome-wide functional screenings, multi-omics, high-throughput sequencing technology, and bioinformatic analysis. Our ultimate goals are developing new strategies for tumor immunotherapy, and translating basic research into clinical trials.
Open position: Postdoctoral Fellows / Research Associate Investigators
Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology, Immunology, Cancer Biology, and other biomedical sciences
Main Responsibilities
a. Lead independent research projects and collaborate with lab members.
b. Assist the PI in mentoring graduate students and preparing grant proposals and manuscripts.
Qualifications
a. Ph.D. in immunology, oncology, molecular / cellular biology, or a related biomedical field (obtained within the past three years or expected soon).
b. Solid background in molecular and cellular biology, including cell culture, gene editing, and flow cytometry. Experience with mouse immune-mediated disease models or bioinformatics (e.g., multi-omics analysis) is preferred.
c. Proven track record as first author in high-impact journals or manuscripts under revision; capable of conducting independent research with strong scientific enthusiasm and rigor.
d. Strong responsibility, excellent teamwork and communication skills, and proficient in English communication and scientific writing.
Bioinformatics
Main Responsibilities
a. Lead independent research projects and collaborate with other team members.
b. Assist the PI in mentoring graduate students and preparing grant proposals and manuscripts.
Qualifications
a. Ph.D. in bioinformatics, computational biology, systems biology, or a related field (obtained within the past three years or expected soon); experience in epigenomic data analysis (e.g., ChIP-Seq, ATAC-Seq, RNA-Seq), single-cell sequencing, or development of bioinformatics pipelines/algorithms is highly preferred.
b. Proficient in Python, R, and Linux; capable of processing and analyzing large-scale biological datasets.
c. Highly responsible, self-motivated, with excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
d. Proficient in English communication and scientific writing.
