Recently, Professor Lin Mei's team from Chinese Institutes for Medical Research (CIMR), Beijing published a cover article titled "Neddylation E1 obligatory subunit Nae1 is critical to neuromuscular junction development and maintenance" in the journal Journal of Neuroscience. The study found that Nae1, an essential subunit of the Neddylation E1 enzyme, is crucial for the development and maintenance of the neuromuscular junction.

Research in Mei lab has focused on mechanisms of synapse formation, neurotransmission, and synaptic plasticity. Our goal is to contribute to a better understanding of these processes and development of potential therapeutic strategies for psychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia, autism, and depression and neurological disorders such as neuromuscular disorders and ALS.
