Laboratory Introduction
The Mei Lab studies the mechanisms underlying synapse formation, transmission, and plasticity, with a focus on the pathophysiology of central nervous system disorders, including schizophrenia, autism, and depression, as well as peripheral nervous system diseases such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and myasthenia gravis. The lab employs a multidisciplinary approach encompassing biochemical assays, electrophysiology (including optogenetics), animal models (mutant, transgenic, and chemogenetic), and in vivo brain imaging and multielectrode recordings in freely behaving mice. Research Assistant Investigator
Main Responsibilities:
a. Independently conduct and participate in research projects.
b. Assist the PI in supervising graduate students.
Qualifications:
a. A Ph.D. in neurobiology, life sciences, biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, electrophysiology and behavioral analysis or related fields, with at least 3 years of postdoctoral research experience.
b. Have scientific research enthusiasm, rigorous scientific research attitude, good communication skills and teamwork spirit;
c. Proficiency in written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate effectively and prepare manuscripts.
