AI in Biology and Medicine: From Computational Life Sciences to Biomedical Translation
Date:2026-10-16

Synopsis

The Chinese Institute for Biomedical AI Science (CIBAS), at the Chinese Institutes for Medical Research, Beijing (CIMR), is pleased to host its inaugural international symposium, bringing together researchers and experts from computational life sciences, artificial intelligence, biomedical research, medicine, and pharmaceutical sciences.

Under the theme “AI in Biology and Medicine: From Computational Life Sciences to Biomedical Translation,” the symposium will explore how advances in AI, computational modeling, and high-performance computing are transforming our understanding of biological systems and accelerating biomedical innovation. Topics will span de novo protein design and protein engineering, physics-informed AI, computational physiology, behavioral analysis, AI-enabled medical imaging and diagnosis, cancer prognosis, protein–ligand interaction prediction, multiscale drug design, AI-aided drug discovery, and structure-informed RNA therapeutics.

By fostering interdisciplinary exchange across academia, medicine, and the pharmaceutical sector, the symposium aims to stimulate new collaborations, share emerging methodologies, and explore opportunities to translate computational and AI-driven discoveries into biomedical applications and therapeutic advances.

The event will feature invited talks by leading researchers from China and abroad, followed by a panel discussion on emerging opportunities and challenges at the intersection of AI, biology, medicine, and drug discovery.
