Laboratory Introduction

Dr. Zhang previously served as Professor at the University of Washington. He is currently Distinguished Investigator and Director of the Independent Cardiovascular Research Lab at CIMR, and holds the position of Distinguished Professor and Chairman of Department of Vascular Surgery, Capital Medical University.

 

Major Research Projects

Dr. Zhang’s Lab performs basic science research on the etiologies, pathogenesis, pathophysiological changes; development and translation of innovative technologies for diagnosis and management of cardiovascular diseases through bioprinting, organoid chip, and hydrogel technologies.

 

· Mechanism and Translational study of abdominal aortic aneurysm.

· Construction and application of 3D bioprinted organoids-on-a-chip towards cardiovascular diseases.

· Potential application of digital-light-processing (DLP)-based 3D bioprinting hydrogel in personalized vascular surgery

· Research and Development of Minimally Invasive Cardiovascular Therapeutic Devices

Main Responsibilities

a. Assit the team in conducting research projects

d. Immunohistochemistry related experiments

 

Qualifications

a. Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Pharmacy, Cell Biology, Basic Medicine, Biomedical Engineering, and other related fields.

b. Research experience in molecular biology, cell biology and immunohistochemistry works is preferred.

c. Self-motivated researcher with good communication skill and teamwork ability.

d. Ability to perform experiments independently, proactive problem solving skills, and a strong sense of responsibility.
