实验室的工作涵盖理论发展和应用研究两个方面。在理论方面,实验室研究复杂数据生成机制下统计推断的基础。在应用方面,实验室与临床医生和跨学科团队密切合作,以应对研究设计和数据分析中的实际挑战,确保方法学的进步源于真实生物医学环境的需求并在此环境中得到验证。
